FAIR_PLAY is a network designed to promote the visibility to the practices of women, cis, trans and sociocultural minorities ignored by the mainstream visibility systems in the fields of sound art, experimental and alternative music and related arts.
The aim is to set up spaces for creation and fair representation through organising events, workshops and mentoring schemes, relaying calls for projects, and sharing tools for boosting visibility and the dissemination of information.

Anne Heche’s h + x is a singular track that feels romantic in a dark way. Like a forbidden romance that is naughty and thrilling on both side of the story. With classical sounding instruments and a tight firm sounding beat the soundtrack for such a thrilling ‘forbidden’ love affair (something that parents and most other people would probably not approve off) the scene is very much set.

The impression is even more elevated by the well placed samples of a sampled conversation coming out of a classic movie. I remember seeing it as the movie had a storyline you won’t easily forget, but unfortunately (thanks youth dementia) not remember its title or any other specific details from. Today’s Discovery – Sylvia Monnier- Stock Shot & Addictive Sling

My review? Actors never sounded so good : )

” Mika Perez has fragmented her aural identity across a number of guises and collaborative outlets. Whether issuing dreary and dreamy sets of amorphous synth pop as Sunny Dunes or recording as a duo (as Deep Catalogue or Suaves Figures), Perez never fails to bring a certain sense of ethereal genius into the fold. But Perez’s other ongoing solo project is Sylvia Monnier, an alias she’s used to issue surreal sets of synthetic sound on Cosmic Winnetou, Scum Yr Earth, Seconds, and BLWBCK, among others.

Sylvia Monnier now graces Sacred Phrases’ catalog with ‘Stock Shot & Addictive Sling,’ a conceptual cassette that meditates on some of the film world’s more dynamic, emotionally raw players. “Michel Piccoli” opens the set with curious apprehension, descending into frame like a light fog rolling through the woods. Distant static and occasional creaks provide the only sense of percussion and “rhythm” while the narrative is told entirely in negative space. “Theresa Russell” and “Gene Hackman” float in a sonic simmer of crackling textures and cyclical drone. “Delphine Seyrig,” one of the more dynamic pieces here, transitions from vacant field recordings and anonymous musique concrete into something much more mechanical, almost like a bizarrely kosmische take on industrial drone music. “Dennis Hopper” and “Maria Schneider” close the set out in an open-ended epiphany.”

Ludmila Frajt (December 31, 1919 – March 14, 1999) was a Yugoslav and Serbian composer. She wrote choral, orchestral and chamber works, music for films and radio-dramas, electro-acoustic works, as well as music for children.

A pioneer of female writing in the domain of Serbian music, she often wrote ‘female’ vocal genres such as lullabies and threnody (music for mourning the dead) .

We’re going on a picnic, yay!  Do we have everything?  Walkman?  Check.  Amplifiers?  Check.  Microphone?  Check.  Circuit board?  Check.  Turntable?  Check.  Wires?  Check.  Okay, looks like we’re set!  *walking, walking, walking*  Hey Francine, this looks like a great spot!  *unpacking*  Click, click, hum, hum, buzz, buzz.  I’m hungry!  Ruthie, did you bring sandwiches?  “…”  Uh oh.  Lisa?  A water bottle?  Anything?  “…”

The women of Nomadic Female DJ Troupe risked everything to bring us creative music: starvation, dehydration, public fine.  To the regular visitors of the park, they are strange women making strange music.  This is not Chicago’s “Saturday in the Park” or The Doobie Brothers’ “Another Park, Another Sunday”.  There is singing, albeit warped, mangled and distorted.  Although Lisa loves karaoke, few would recognize this as song.  Tapes are rewound and abused.  The needle drops and is snatched away.  What in the world is going on?

“The content of Diary #1 is a selection of 12 patches/compositions carefully sorted among hours of recordings produced during 2015. They came out from the everyday exercising, following my mood on the creativ path. All the tracks are one takes, composed and performed in real time on my modular synth mixed with the Doepfer A 138, and recorded on Pro…tools. No additional DAW mixing or editing. High resolution audio files 48/24.
