Unfortunately, I can’t post everyone’s links here as there are just too many artists, labels and collectives – luckily.
However, we can all help a little, if we buy something via Bandcamp today. Go on…. You know you want to
I realise not everyone is on Bandcamp, so like many others out there, I will continue to do just what I’ve been doing so far, highlighting electronic artists on as many platforms as possible.
Speak to you all soon and in the meantime I send all my best wishes wherever and whoever, fwiw : )
Over the years I have lived in hope that there would no longer be a need for #IWD and that I wouldn’t have to keep posting about this.
I am a dreamer.
I’m not going to put a negative slant on this as it does give a chance to genuinely support and give three cheers to many women ( and I mean anyone who identifies as female) around the world who work tirelessly to improve the lives of all people culturally, economically, politically and any other spheres that I’ve omitted.
I just wish that the world would get a move on and get it’s act together and just recognise that we all deserve to be heard and deserve to have parity, equality and visibility.
I’m an inherent optimist.
When I’m in this sort of mind I like to listen to this –
Instability, incompleteness, a certain kind of relativity. These are the sources of Laughing Ears’ Metamorphosis, which avoids totalizing effects and holistic conceptions of style in order to present listeners with an ever-shifting music that sounds like dance but is more akin to walking the streets of a city. For instance, the rhythms come mostly from […]
I have been having a giant clear-out and I found loads of scraps of paper accumulated over the last 8 years with artist names on them.
So I’ve decided that for 2020 I will post a few here at a time and add them to the artist directory, as well as posting on Twitter and Facebook.
“A women artists collective conformed by Alina Hernández, Daniela Falcón and Shanttal Saad, who explored through sound and transmedia the meaning of femininity and the dissolution of identity. Concerned about the empowerment of women in the improvisation and experimental music scenes they look up to collaborate with other women in order to create a stronger community in which they support each other.
Eclectic Electronic Soundscapes
Sometimes tracks are just too long for the usual playlist I put together so I decided to put together bite-sized playlists for longer tracks.
Bite-sized in number of artists but not scrimping on the length and quality of the listening : )
Take some time and immerse in the sound waves.
As with all the playlists, they are jumping off points to discoveries. They are not meant to be definitive. Just let some of the tracks play onto the next….follow up on “sounds like”….see who’s following, many artists follow other artists……
Artists on this playlist are tfarhad, ramsha, Alina Moldonado, Trinh Hue Luong,Theremidi Orchestra with Irena Tomazin and Liz Helman.
Also if you wish another suggestion of a longlisten, you cannot fail with this –
