In the meantime, here are some playlists I put together for 2018 of about 150 artists but as I keep saying, this is just the tip of the iceberg –
Over the years I have lived in hope that there would no longer be a need for #IWD and that I wouldn’t have to keep posting about this.
I am a dreamer.
I’m not going to put a negative slant on this as it does give a chance to genuinely support and give three cheers to many women ( and I mean anyone who identifies as female) around the world who work tirelessly to improve the lives of all people culturally, economically, politically and any other spheres that I’ve omitted.
I just wish that the world would get a move on and get it’s act together and just recognise that we all deserve to be heard and deserve to have parity, equality and visibility.
I’m an inherent optimist.

In lieu of IWD playlists, I will be posting this week, compilations and various artists releases, that may be of interest or in case you missed them.
In no order of preference, I am beginning with this compilation of electronic artists based in the Hague, which I found out about via a Yeah I Know it Sucks review
There is always just so much posted on IWD and increasingly I feel overwhelmed by all the sheer amount of articles and playlists. This multi-genre compilation was inspired by Ionesco’s play ‘Rhinoceros’ with various artists voicing their protest via sound.

I’ve been neglecting here recently and today is no exception as although it is International Women’s Day, I’ve spent a lot of time recently doing what I love.. creating electronic music.
Anyway, everyday is IWD here but I did try a little experiment.
How much electronic music of all genres is being created by artists who just happen to identify as female?
So the following playlists are made up of tracks that i’ve listened to but not all, in the last month. I haven’t included some due to their length and for that I apologise if you are one of those artists. Of course, there are many many artists that I haven’t heard as yet.
As always, these are in no way an exhaustive list. I’m always just skimming the surface of creativity and as ever they are just starting points…it really is the tip of the iceberg of some of the music I’ve listened to this past few weeks and doesn’t cover all the artists I am following or who follow.
