It’s American Poetry month and The Sunday Mixes are all linked to the celebrations.
Last week was In Praise of Trees and this week is a celebration of the poetry of E.E.Cummings, beginning with this article –
SONNETS AND UNREALITIES – BJORK AND E E CUMMINGS
i will wade out
till my thighs are steeped in burning flowers
I will take the sun in my mouth
and leap into the ripe air
Alive
with closed eyes
to dash against darkness
in the sleeping curves of my body
Shall enter fingers of smooth mastery
with chasteness of sea-girls
Will i complete the mystery
of my flesh
I will rise
After a thousand years
lipping
flowers
And set my teeth in the silver of the moon
it may not always be so; and i say
that if your lips,which i have loved,should touch
another’s,and your dear strong fingers clutch
his heart,as mine in time not far away;
if on another’s face your sweet hair lay
in such silence as i know,or such
great writhing words as,uttering overmuch,
stand helplessly before the spirit at bay;
if this should be,i say if this should be—
you of my heart,send me a little word;
that i may go unto him,and take his hands,
saying,Accept all happiness from me.
Then shall i turn my face,and hear one bird
sing terribly afar in the lost lands

Food for thought…
Here is an interesting article from ))) Sound Reflections which is worth a visit
Recently I posted a round up of resources for female sound artists and audio engineers : the debate on whether there is a need for gender-specific resources remains open, but the fact remains that female artists in the field remain a minority, and remain under-represented.

Each week I have a Sunday Mix on Twitter and thought I would reproduce them here.
For the next couple of weeks the Sunday Mix is going to be loosely based on American Poetry Month and this week as it was a beautiful Easter Day here the mix is in praise of Trees.
Some words of wisdom here : )
On March 27th we received this heartwarming, enthusiastic feedback about our tumblr photo blog. Gesine Lohr teaches keyboard at the Bay Area Girls’ Rock Camp and her advices seem timeless and universal to us:
