I have been having a giant clear-out and I found loads of scraps of paper accumulated over the last 8 years with artist names on them.
So I’ve decided that for 2020 I will post a few here at a time and add them to the artist directory, as well as posting on Twitter and Facebook.
“A women artists collective conformed by Alina Hernández, Daniela Falcón and Shanttal Saad, who explored through sound and transmedia the meaning of femininity and the dissolution of identity. Concerned about the empowerment of women in the improvisation and experimental music scenes they look up to collaborate with other women in order to create a stronger community in which they support each other.
Eclectic Electronic Soundscapes
Sometimes tracks are just too long for the usual playlist I put together so I decided to put together bite-sized playlists for longer tracks.
Bite-sized in number of artists but not scrimping on the length and quality of the listening : )
Take some time and immerse in the sound waves.
As with all the playlists, they are jumping off points to discoveries. They are not meant to be definitive. Just let some of the tracks play onto the next….follow up on “sounds like”….see who’s following, many artists follow other artists……
Artists on this playlist are tfarhad, ramsha, Alina Moldonado, Trinh Hue Luong,Theremidi Orchestra with Irena Tomazin and Liz Helman.
Also if you wish another suggestion of a longlisten, you cannot fail with this –

Lena Platonos is a Greek musician, pianist and composer and pioneer of Greek electronic and art music. She took a leading role in the electronic music scene in the 1980s, while her work constituted an inspiration for Greek electronic musicians in the subsequent decades. (Wikipedia)
There was a long thread about pioneers of electronic music on twitter and the usual names cropped up but as is often the case there were names I hadn’t heard of and Jean Eichelberger Ivey is one of those names…shame on me.
So you know when I said I had a lot in my draft file, well here’s something I put together in 2015 when I started this journey and forgot to post but fits really well in #Rolemodels.
I have often wondered…
WHAT IS SOUND ART?
This was part of a series on Sound Art and the women who have been and are, at the forefront of this highly eclectic and diverse art form but I never posted this until now…
