“Interested in voice and repetition Dining Room (2014) explores the performative formation of collective utterance from a singular subject. While walking the parameter of her parents recently vacated dining room the artist simultaneously utters and records a singular, flat note. I know it was Piano Day yesterday but where would my love of synths come from without first having a love of the piano? Some great women included on these playlists, too.
This weeks’ Sunday mix is a little bit different as it celebrates that beautiful instrument, without which I wouldn’t have my synths.

female:pressure is an international network of over 1400 female artists from 65 countries in the wider fields of electronic music. This blog was inspired by Bjork’s Pitchfork article in January 2015 where she notes the lack of photographic documentation of women at work. Here we offer a visual catalogue of female producers, DJ’s, media artists and electronic music performers at work. These are not our press photos. This is a collective effort to demonstrate women and their use of technology in music and media production. Contributions welcome!
