I am an electronic musician who, as someone recently said to me, set up Feminatronic to act as "soft PR" for female electronic artists from all genres and styles. If I can give a little helping hand then why not?

SONNETS AND UNREALITIES – BJORK AND E E CUMMINGS

QUEEN MOBS TEAHOUSE

i will wade out
till my thighs are steeped in burning flowers
I will take the sun in my mouth
and leap into the ripe air
Alive
with closed eyes
to dash against darkness
in the sleeping curves of my body
Shall enter fingers of smooth mastery
with chasteness of sea-girls
Will i complete the mystery
of my flesh
I will rise
After a thousand years
lipping
flowers
And set my teeth in the silver of the moon

it may not always be so; and i say
that if your lips,which i have loved,should touch
another’s,and your dear strong fingers clutch
his heart,as mine in time not far away;
if on another’s face your sweet hair lay
in such silence as i know,or such
great writhing words as,uttering overmuch,
stand helplessly before the spirit at bay;

if this should be,i say if this should be—
you of my heart,send me a little word;
that i may go unto him,and take his hands,
saying,Accept all happiness from me.
Then shall i turn my face,and hear one bird
sing terribly afar in the lost lands

Foundsoundscape: the (female) reboot – ))) Sound Reflections Blog

Here is an interesting article from ))) Sound Reflections which is worth a visit

Recently I posted a round up of resources for female sound artists and audio engineers : the debate on whether there is a need for gender-specific resources remains open, but the fact remains that female artists in the field remain a minority, and remain under-represented.

FEMINATRONIC SUNDAY MIX – IN PRAISE OF TREES

Each week I have a Sunday Mix on Twitter and thought I would reproduce them here.

For the next couple of weeks the Sunday Mix is going to be loosely based on American Poetry Month and this week as it was a beautiful Easter Day here the mix is in praise of Trees.

Experimental Housewife - CMKY 2015

In advance of the 2015 Communikey Festival — which takes place April 16-19 month in Boulder, CO — Experimental Housewife was tapped to record a Headphone Commute mix showcasing the more ambient-leaning portion of the festival programming.

This year’s edition of the Communikey Festival is set to be the organization’s last as they prepare to retire the format in order to focus on the next stage of their creative evolution. It’s a bittersweet end for a long-running cultural institution that has served to promote social, cultural and ecological innovation through creative process. As such, Experimental Housewife intended for this mix to serve as a lamentation for the festival’s end and an ode to what is yet to come.

Bookended by a pair of tracks from the lauded Silent Season artist Segue, the mix traverses a wide range of styles, from Charles Cohen and Neel’s modular abstractions to the…
