I went down a rabbit hole this afternoon since it’s my tenth birthday : )
I shouldn’t have favourites but Bebe Barron is definitely top of my list of Pioneers of Electronic Music.

It is with sadness that I learnt of the death of Kaija Saariaho. There are others more eloquent and knowledgeable than me, who have written obituaries to match her importance in the pantheon of composers.
All I can say is that personally, her music was one of the first where I discovered the beauty of the natural world encapsulated in sound and composition, using both orchestral and electronic instruments.
As my blackbird sings in the garden this morning, somehow, I hear a connection between his song and her songs.

Eclectic Electronic Soundscapes –
It’s 2023 and I’m taking stock this year and seeing how far I’ve come on my sonic journey, especially as it’s my 10th Anniversary year.
To make sure that I’m giving space for as many artists as possible and to try and discover new one’s, Feminatronic will be focussing on Artists alphabetically throughout the year on all platforms.
Here is an updated playlist for the letter D –
As with all the playlists, there are no prefences and focussing on letters makes the playlist very eclectic. They are jumping off points to discoveries. Just let some of the tracks play onto the next….follow up on “sounds like”….see who’s following, many artists follow other artists….
