#Rolemodels – Suzanne Doucet

There seems to be an resurgence of interest in new age music created in the 70’s and 80’s and to me, on further listening in 2019, it doesn’t really differ from many of the “new” genres in electronic music and artists that are around now.

New Age music has had a bad press over the years but don’t dismiss it offhand. There are musicians who need to have a greater recognition for their creativity despite the tag New Age and Suzanne Doucet is a pioneer of New Age and is definitely a rolemodel.

Maybe it’s because I recognise the methods in creating The Black Isle, this is a release that I loved from first listening. Thanks to A Closer Listen it would have otherwise escaped me.
